"Can Pine Nuts Be Bad For You?"

It has been my observation that pine nuts, when consumed in the same manner as other nuts, (by the handful) will cause an awful bitter reaction to other foods for days.

This I learned when my wife brought home a bag and I decided that they would make an excellent snack before dinner. For days I complained that every thing I ate tasted bitter. We learned with some research that this is a curious side effect of having too many pine nuts at once. They are still a favorite ingredient but the bitter experience was so intense that I am relatively certain that I shall not repeat it.
